Implementation of SAGE Learning

One of the ways they explored the SAGE Learning Approach was by using Yellowdig, a gamified social engagement community building discussion board. Yellowdig utilizes gamified elements to encourage students to interact with the course content and each other. This research team collected data using Qualtrics questionnaires with closed and open-ended questions. This study utilizes the disruptive innovation theory, whereby this discussion board disrupts traditional learning.

The majority of participants found the online community easy to learn

The majority found their experience effective, clear, and supportive, opposed to ineffective, unclear, and unsupportive

Yellowdig's goal is to add community and playing into learning. Through an interactive platform, learners can engage in more meaningful collaboration with their classmates and material. Yellowdig provides an easy way to implement the SAGE method, or "Social and Gameful Experience, in an effective and user-friendly way."
